THE BASICS

  • I offer one simple way of working; full-day coverage with a carefully curated gallery, allowing the experience to remain straightforward and fuss-free.

I photograph weddings in a relaxed documentary style, capturing the natural flow of the day, the big moments, the atmosphere, and everything in between. I’ll also naturally look for opportunities to step away with you both for a few relaxed portraits together.

I’m there all day, usually arriving a couple of hours before the ceremony and leaving only once I feel the story of the day has truly been captured.

Your gallery is thoughtfully curated and edited in my signature style, creating a refined collection you can relive without being overwhelmed by endless photographs, while also allowing your images to be delivered much sooner.

THE RESULTS

THE PHOTOGRAPHER

  • Documentary with an eye for couples portraits. I'll capture the big moments as well as details like the weather, surroundings, lighting, decor, guests etc… everything that combines to tell the story the day.

  • It's my preference to capture the day organically as it unfolds in front of me. I have no specific demands, I'll work around you and your plan for your day. I will never ask you to re-do or fake something for a picture, I want you to look back at a gallery full of authentic moments that stir up real memories. Of course there are times when I will direct or prompt when needed, particularly during portraits, and equally I’m happy be asked to take specific shots, but please rest assured my goal is always to capture real moments in an artistic a way as possible.

  • I shoot with one camera at a time and use only prime lenses. I find this approach to be less invasive overall on the day and using prime lenses allows for the highest quality of imagery while also promoting a more considered approach to composition. Generally I keep the equipment I use as subtle as possible.

  • I describe my editing style as atmospheric. Ultimately when I'm editing I'm looking to ensure the colours are beautiful, skin tones are natural and the atmosphere in that moment is preserved for you to re-live. As standard I will edit all images to my signature style, which includes my unique colour treatment, exposure and lighting choices, cropping and straightening, and obvious blemish/object removal.

THE WEDDING DAY

  • I’ll arrive in plenty of time before your ceremony to capture the atmosphere as the day begins, focusing first on details and establishing shots before gradually turning my camera towards you and your guests.

Most of the time I’ll quietly get on with documenting the day as it unfolds, occasionally checking in with your other vendors if needed. I’ll also chat with you and your wedding party along the way, both to make sure nothing important is overlooked and to help everyone feel comfortable in front of the camera.

I prefer to capture moments naturally as they happen, only stepping in occasionally when a small suggestion might improve the light or composition.

After your ceremony we’ll usually gather any group photographs, before taking a few relaxed portraits of just the two of you. Later in the day we’ll often take another opportunity for a few more portraits, ideally making the most of the softer evening light.

Throughout the rest of the celebrations I’ll continue to document the atmosphere, the speeches, reactions and moments shared between your favourite people. As the evening unfolds I may introduce a little discreet lighting for the first dance before switching to a more energetic flash style once the dance floor fills.

I’ll stay until I feel the story of the day has naturally reached its end, making sure to say goodbye before leaving you to enjoy the rest of your night.

  • Arguably what I'm known for. My clients have varying levels of comfort zones and I'll work with you to bring out the best in you.

Typically I try and capture couples portraits over two shorter sessions (post ceremony because it's often a natural gap in the proceedings, and then last light of day/softer evening light) rather than one long session. This means we can utilise the best lighting on the day for the best results and ensure you are never away from your guests for too long (unless you want to be).

  • I strive to shoot outside in natural light as much as possible to ensure the best results (more light = better quality images), and I'm happy to do so in all weather conditions. My hope is that you share this ethos and see the opportunity to get outside for pictures as something to look forward to and are appropriately prepared for this (change of shoes, brollies/warm jacket if need be).

  • I’m always happy to capture a few family portraits, but organising large groups can take longer than expected — usually around five minutes per photograph.

If there isn’t a planner or coordinator helping to gather people on the day, I limit this to six formal family portraits, which typically takes around 30 minutes.

This might include combinations such as the couple with each side of the family, the full wedding party, and a photograph with all guests (space and weather permitting).

Relaxed photographs with bridesmaids, groomsmen and friends aren’t included in this list as they’re much more informal and can happen naturally throughout the day.

If a planner or coordinator is available to help organise guests, I’m very happy to accommodate a slightly longer list.

  • There are a few instances where some vendors can have a significant impact on the way I am able to truly capture your day. It’s important that where possible you look to work with other vendors who share a similar approach.

    Videographers
Given we work on top of each other on the day I prefer to work alongside videographers I have worked with before as this allows for a smoother day for all involved.

If you’re considering a videographer I’m happy to recommend some amazing videographers after booking, many of which I am also able to work alongside in a hybrid capacity second shooting for each other - perfect for couples who don’t want too many cameras in their face on the day. Let me know is this is something you’re interested in.

    Content Creators
As with videographers, the close proximity on the day means I prefer to work alongside content creators I have worked with before. I would recommend Fay Bloom above all others.

Please be sure to let me know if you have a content creator booked.

  • For larger weddings or busy timelines, a second photographer can be a great addition.

While I focus on the key moments of the day, a second photographer captures additional perspectives — guest interactions, venue details, and the natural moments happening elsewhere.

It also allows both morning preparations to be covered and gives us two angles during important moments like the ceremony and speeches.

A second photographer typically adds 25% additional images to your gallery.

I only work with trusted photographer friends who I collaborate with regularly. All images are edited by me to ensure a seamless, consistent gallery.

For couples who would prefer to receive a larger selection of images, an extended gallery including additional photographs from throughout the day can be provided. This will typically add a further 200–400 images to your gallery. This can be added later but must be requested and agreed prior to your day as it will affect how I shoot on the day.

    £400

  • A relaxed portrait session before your wedding day. These sessions are a lovely opportunity for us to spend a little time together ahead of the wedding and for you both to become more comfortable in front of the camera. It can take place any time between booking and your actual wedding date but must be within The Lake District. Many couples also choose to use the photographs for save-the-dates, wedding websites or invitations.

    £250

  • Additional coverage for events surrounding your wedding, such as welcome dinners, rehearsal gatherings or post-wedding celebrations. These occasions can often be more relaxed and intimate, providing a wonderful opportunity to capture time spent with your closest family and friends.

    POA

  • All images are edited in my signature style, including colour treatment, exposure and lighting adjustments, cropping and straightening, and the removal of obvious blemishes or distractions where appropriate.

For couples who would like more detailed retouching, an extended bespoke editing service is available on request. This can include things such as background or foreground object removal, hairline corrections and fly-away hairs, more advanced retouching, or other specific adjustments.

If you feel you may be looking for this level of editing, please feel free to discuss it with me.

    POA

  • If you would prefer to receive your gallery sooner than the standard turnaround time, expedited editing may be available depending on my schedule. This allows your photographs to be prioritised within my editing workflow.
